Ko-na!

Heyo! We’re here! We’ve actually been here since Saturday, but I’ve been busy… Ok, no I haven’t. But I have been getting a lot of rest! And that’s all thanks to the sister of the century, Mikaela. She’s awesome! She, who avoids pre-10am alarms like the swine flu, has been getting up at 5am with me, driving me down to the water, hanging out while I get my workouts done, driving me to the grocery store, driving me to meet up with sponsors, not kicking me out of the room when I ask to shut the lights out at 8pm, AND still managed to get some surfing in.
She’s also been keeping me on task with this camera. Here are some of the sights:
No matter what time of day it is, looking out from our room is absolutely breath-taking!
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World film View from the saddle:
So I’m riding along on Sunday, just taking it all in, when I notice what looks like a dog’s back-side sticking out from the brush along the Queen K. A stray dog? There’s not a house for miles! Nope, that’s a goat! There are three goats!!
The stark contrasts make Kona so beautiful! The pure indigo blue of the ocean along side the harsh, black lava, accented with bright pink and orange flowers – amazing!
All this, and I’ve hardly ventured out of my room! Party starts Saturday! Woop woop!
