We're Here!

Jul 17th, 2009 : 08:33pm

We loaded the car up this morning, and made the 6-hour trek over to Lake Placid, where we will reside for the next week and a half.  Woop woop!

We brought A LOT of stuff!

We brought A LOT of stuff!

Among the essentials: way too many clothes, 4 sets of wheels, 3 laptops, 8 canisters of PowerBar Endurance sports drink, 6 pairs of running shoes, 3 bikes, and a Foreman Grill.

It only took 3 hours to pack up the car, and then we were off.  We jammed to Pandora, scrolled Facebook updates, snacked on cherries and egg whites, and hit minimal traffic in Albany.  Around 5:45 we saw the first sign: изнасилования зрелых бесплатно

We're getting close!

Then this:

Heyo! That's us!

Heyo! That's us!

Soon we were off of Rt 89, and cruising along the scenic road toward Keene and LP…

Almost there...

Almost there...

A Prairie Home Companion release None of these signs meant a thing, though.  This is the true symbol of Lake Placid:

Can you say, "make your own sundae"?!

Can you say, "make your own sundae"?!

Oh, yeah!!  There it is, folks!  This is the post-race headquarters, fully stocked with many of the non-Core Diet essentials: ice cream, cookies, muffins, chips, crackers.  Mmmm…

For our first 4 nights we will shacking up at Art Devlin’s.  Here’s how we found the room:

We’ll see what it looks like when we move out on Tuesday…  (Anyone who’s traveled with us in the past probably has a good idea of what it already looks like!)

I love this place!

It was awesome!! The forecast called for rain all day, but it started clearing up just as we started our ride and it was beautiful the rest of the day. I love this place! Can’t wait ’til you come up!
