Schooooool's Out For Summer!

Jul 6th, 2009 : 09:25pm

Yay!  Tim’s on summer vacation!  Too kick it off we had ourselves quite the little 4th of July weekend.  We started with a little local race in Killington, VT on Saturday morning.  Even though there were no more than 35 athletes in the race that we were doing (not exaggerating – promise!), it was exactly what we needed – a short, hard effort, with confidence-solidifying power and pace numbers.

As we headed south toward home the sky cleared and there was this bright yellow orb in the sky.  I believe they call it… the sun?  Is that the term?  Yes!  It was sunny, and warm, and just perfect!  Tim and I had ourselves a lovely little recovery ride outside once we got home.  Luckily everyone was still at their cookouts, so there was hardly a car on the road.  It was so nice!

Sunday we slept in (niiiice), went for another ride OUTSIDE followed by a quick run, and then the real fun began!  We decided to have my sister, my mom and Mike over for a cookout.  Our first cookout.  Upon assessing the backyard, we came to the conclusion that we needed some backyard furniture and a grill.  Off to Lowe’s we went!  We bought some tiki torches, a tank of propane, charcoal, kerosene, and a grill.  (We borrowed a table and some chairs from Tim’s parents – lawn furniture is expensive!)  Mikaela and I bought and prepared the food while Tim turned a box of parts into a grill.

I thought grills came pre-assembled...

  1. Your local groomer says:

I think you need to drop the dogs off for a shave. Drew looks like a miniture Komondore, and Jake looks like he doesn’t have a home!!!

  2. Mom says:

Mike’s going to want credit for the drip-pan on the grill …. ;-)
